EXPERIENCE

DIRECTIONS

Topical: Dilute 1 drop with 4 drops of V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex or olive oil. Test on a small area of skin on the underside of your arm and apply to desired area as needed.

PRODUCT BACKGROUND

Peppermint is originally from Europe, but 75 percent of the world’s supply is now grown in the United States. To produce one of Young Living’s most popular oils, we look to several farms, including the Young Living Lavender Farm and Distillery in Mona, Utah.

One 15 ml bottle of Peppermint essential oil is created by steam distilling 1 pound of the leaves and flowering tops of the peppermint plant. Peppermint is a key ingredient in PanAway®, Cool Azul® Pain Relief Cream, and Deep Relief™ Roll-On.

Peppermint essential oil joined the Young Living family in 1994.

What is Peppermint oil used for?

According to National Center for Complimentary and integrated Health, peppermint is used as a dietary supplement for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), other digestive problems, the common cold, headaches, and other conditions. Peppermint oil is also used topically (applied to the skin) for headache, muscle aches, itching, and other problems.

Peppermint oil has been studied most extensively for IBS. Results from several studies indicate that peppermint oil in enteric-coated capsules may improve IBS symptoms.

A few studies have indicated that peppermint oil, in combination with caraway oil, may help relieve indigestion, but this evidence is preliminary and the product that was tested is not available in the United States.

Peppermint oil has been used topically for tension headaches and a limited amount of evidence suggests that it might be helpful for this purpose.

There’s not enough evidence to allow any conclusions to be reached about whether peppermint oil is helpful for nausea, the common cold, or other conditions.

Mint has been used for health purposes for several thousand years. It is mentioned in records from ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. However, peppermint was not recognized as a distinct kind of mint until the 1700s.

20 fresh uses for Peppermint

1. Chill out after a long day. Dilute 1 drop of Peppermint with 4 drops of V-6™ or another carrier oil; then rub on the temples, forehead, and back of the neck. Be careful to avoid your eyes! You’ll feel a soothing, cooling sensation, courtesy of the constituents menthol and menthyl acetate.

YL tip: Can you put Peppermint oil directly on the skin?

Peppermint is a “hot” oil, which means it creates a warming sensation on the skin when it’s applied undiluted. We recommend starting out using Peppermint diluted 1:4 with a carrier oil. If you want to use it undiluted, do a patch test of 1 drop to see how it feels on your skin. If you experience a reaction to the oil, dilute the oil with a 1:4 ratio of carrier oil and try another patch test.

2. Soothe sun-kissed skin. Cool skin after a day in the sun by adding a few drops each of Peppermint and Lavender to aloe vera gel.

3. Freshen carpets. Make a carpet powder with 1 cup of baking soda and 20-30 drops of essential oil. We love the purifying scent of Kunzea with Peppermint’s bright aroma.

4. Add Cool Azul™ to your cool-down. Peppermint is a main ingredient in the Cool Azul line of products! Massage tired muscles with Cool Azul Sports Gel after a tough workout.

5. Find your focus. Fill your office or study space with energizing aromas by diffusing this blend when it’s time to buckle down on a project.

6. Refresh while you rehydrate. Add a few drops of Peppermint Vitality™ to your water bottle for an extra refreshing zing. We recommend 1-2 drops for every 16 ounces of water.

My Oily Anniversary

My social media reminded me October is my oily anniversary, so I want to recap how I started, why and what these past 4 years gave me.

2015, my son was in kindergarten, the last year and I was just bracing myself for Fall/Winter season. This is always the most dreadful time for all parents. The sniffles, constantly running nose, cough and flu. Even if your kid is healthy, he is bound to catch something from other kids in his class. The previous two years in kindy he had it all and I was looking for advice and possible solutions

My friend just started with Young Living and when she heard me complaining, she recommended Thieves Blend to help. She is somebody I really trust so I gave it a try and signed up with Young Living. At the time, the Premium Starter Kit in Japan was different and didn’t have the oils I wanted so I opted for Basic Starter Kit and oils of my choice. When the package arrived, I immediately opened Lavender and sniffed it…. it was love at first sight. I put the roller fitment on the bottle and carried the bottle on me 24/7. Biwa Time of the Year – Delicious Vegan Recipes

Oh yes, it’s that time of the year again. Our Biwa tree has delicious fruit and I’m loving it.

To be honest, I never even heard of Biwa until we moved to Japan. And I never really tried until we moved to new house and there was a Biwa tree right there in our new garden.

I didn’t really know what to do with the fruits so I started to experiment with it and found out that if I pick it before it’s too ripe, it had nice sourish taste, which I love in my salads.

And so my Biwa recipes came to life

Mixed Green Salad with Biwa

Ingredients

1/4 of iceberg lettuce

6 cherry tomatoes, quartered

1/8 of red onion, sliced

1/2 cucumber, sliced

1/4 of bell pepper, cut

2 biwa, squeezed over a bowl so juice and flash separates

Bunch of cilantro

Dressing

The juice from the Biwa fruit

1 tsp of olive oil

1 tsp of white balsamic vinegar

1 drop of Jade Lemon Essential oil

Punch of Himalaya pink salt

Method

Mix all the ingredient for the dressing and let sit together so the flavors combine.

Meantime, prepare all you vegetables and fruit together in a bowl. Pour the dressing over it, taste it and then use some salt.

Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and enjoy your healthy and delicious meal!

Quinoa Biwa Herb Salad

Ingredients

1 cup cooked quinoa

Bunch of Baby leaf salad mix

Bunch of coriander

3 leafs of fresh sage

1 cucumber

2 radishes

Little bit of fresh curry leaf

Salt

Olive oil

Lemon Essential oil

Three slices of bell pepper

Method

Wash your quinoa really well to avoid it turning bitter. Boil with cup of water, salt and the curry leaf. It will give it nice smell and flavor. Let it cool down

In the meantime, chop the baby leaf and herbs and cut your cucumber and radishes into slices. Squeeze the Biwa in your fingers so it opens and remove the pits, squeezing the juice and flesh into the salad bowl. Toss it together with the rest of the ingredients. Mix spoon of olive oil with two drops of Lemon EO and pinch of salt and toss it together with the salad. Serve with some bell peppers

My Healthy Friday Morning

My biggest food struggle is breakfast. I’m Czech, I grew up on bread rolls and ham for breakfast most of my life. I love bread rolls but that’s where part of my belly fat comes from 😹🤪.

Recently I’m really trying to be healthier, eat healthier. Healthy, filling breakfast is a part of it but I mostly end up with a bowl of rice topped with poached egg, steamed Okra and Kimchi. I used to have tofu with it, but trying to stay away from soy products for now due to my thyroid issues.

Yesterday, one of my friends asked about our favorite healthy snack/dessert and I remembered my Chia Pudding Recipe! Oh I miss it so much! It’s not only great as healthy dessert, it makes for great breakfast too!

Chia Seeds need time to soak so best of you can pre soak them the night before. If not, let’s hope you have at least an hour in the morning. Luckily I do, I actually prefer to wait an hour with my food after I take my morning capsule with Endoflex Vitality, so I started so soak my Chia seeds.

What you need

4 tbs of Organic Chia Seeds,

100 ml of Almond or Coconut milk

30 ml of NingXia Red

1 tbs of Pumpkin Seeds

1 tbs of Sunflower Seeds

1 banana

2 drops of Citrus Fresh

First of all, you soak your Chia Seeds with the liquids and let it sit for a while. Best is over night but an hour gives you good texture too.

Right before serving, you add your pumpkin and sun flower seeds or any seeds/nuts of your liking, half of the banana and 2 drops of Citrus Fresh Essential Oil for extra flavor and mix well. Serve with the rest of the banana on top.

You can actually make this with any fruits of your liking, I made it with Pineapple before and it was so delicious!

Chia Seeds are very good for you. They are great source of Omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants and provide us with fiber, iron and calcium. They help to raise our “good” cholesterol and protect our heart.

A one-ounce (28 grams) serving of chia seeds contains (1):

  • Fiber: 11 grams.
  • Protein: 4 grams.
  • Fat: 9 grams (5 of which are omega-3s).
  • Calcium: 18% of the RDI.
  • Manganese: 30% of the RDI.
  • Magnesium: 30% of the RDI.
  • Phosphorus: 27% of the RDI.
  • They also contain a decent amount of zinc, vitamin B3 (niacin), potassium, vitamin B1 (thiamine) and vitamin B2.

This small amount supplies only 137 calories and one gram of digestible carbohydrate.

Lustrous Hair of Mine…

I always had very long hair, ever since I remember. Only in Grade 2 my parents chopped it off, so I have my class picture with super short hair.

Naturally, when I came to my teenage years, I didn’t appreciate having waist long, thick hair and I cut it several times, then I permed it and colored it over and over. My hair got weaker and weaker and is now probably on half the strength and number as it was 20 years ago. Go figure.

Then came pregnancy, the dreaded time for woman’s hair (not only hair). Really wish I knew about essential oils back then. But I didn’t so I chopped my hair short, trying to ease the damage and hair loss. It was heart breaking.

Also, the shorter my hair goes, the curlier it goes. So with my long bob now, I am like a Bon Jovi double from the 80ties. I kid you not. If I want smooth texture, I have to blow dry or iron my hair. That causes more damage so I try to avoid it and rock my messy curls

I have learned one thing. Oil up! Yes, we have amazing oils that help us with anything and everything and hair is not an exception. In the Japanese Starter Kit, there is Lavender and Rosemary and I always recommend to add Cedarwood to the first order, so my new member can start making her hair treatments right away.

Why? Lavender, Rosemary and Cedarwood is my Holy Trinity for all things hair.

Lavender Essential oil can speed up hair growth.  Knowing that lavender oil has properties that can generate the growth of cells and reduce stress, researchers on one study found that this oil was able to generate faster hair growth. It also has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which can improve scalp health.

Rosemary essential oil helps to improve both hair thickness and hair growth. It has the ability to improve cellular generation.

Cedarwood essential oil is thought to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss by balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which can treat different conditions that may contribute to dandruff or hair loss. Included in a mixture with lavender and rosemary, cedarwood extract was also found to help to reduce hair loss in those with alopecia.

During summer, I like to add Peppermint and for my friends who just had baby, I include Clary Sage in this mix.

Here is my recipe for great and highly effective hair mask

Ingredients

10 drops of Lavender Essential oil

10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

10 drops of Cedarwood

30 ml of Castor oil

60 ml of Hemp oil (can be Coconut oil too)

One 100 ml pump container

Method

First mix the essential oils in the container and let sit for few hours together, so the oils can synergy together. Then add Castor oil and hemp oil and swirl well, so it all mixes properly. Do not shake it, it would oxidize the oils and you don’t want that.

About 30 min before you will be washing your hair, spray the mixture on your roots and massage well into the scalp. The mixture is thick, thanks to the Castor oil, so be generous with it and spray it all over your head. Leave on for at least min. You can leave it on longer

Then wash it off with Shampoo as you’re used to. You can also use my Shampoo bar Recipe that is fantastic and has same essential oils to support beautiful hair.

What’s the best about this Hair treatment is that it contains zero toxic chemicals, just pure goodness. And if you need longer lashes, you can put some of this mixture into an empty mascara container and use it as you Eyelash Serum!

How?

Mermaid Hair Spray

30 drops of Lavender

30 drops of Cedarwood

30 drops of Rosemary

1/4 of the container to be filled with Witch Hazel

Fill rest with distilled water
