Cooking is my big passion. I love it (most of the times at least) and I also love to experiment in the kitchen. So once I got comfortable using my oils on my body, I realized their potential goes far beyond a face serum. And I started to research how I can use them in my kitchen too. I will share some recipes with you, so you can see these oils are amazing and have so much benefits for you.
Why you want to cook with oils?
My Number 1 recipe and also the most favorite and duplicated recipe so far is Rosemary Popcorn. It is super simple and requires minimum time and the result is mind blowing. Favorite party treat for many of my friends and their kids with great benefits for your digestion.
So at first you need small glass jar with lid. Make sure it has a lid that closes tight. I’m using 150 ml jar. Fill it up half way, 1/4 cup of coarse salt. Now when it comes to your salt, you want the grains to be on the smaller size, not fine just not too big. You won’t be using a mill so that’s why not too big. Into this you add 3 drops of Rosemary Essential oil. (It is crucial that you only use highest quality Essential oil. I only use Young Living and I recommend you do the same). Close the lid and shake very well. Let sit on your counter and occasionally shake again and again. You want the salt to absorb the Rosemary flavor and aroma well so let it sit for few hours at least.
Now that you made your salt, let’s move on to the Rosemary Popcorn Recipe.
2-3 tablespoon of vegetable oil (I use avocado)
1/3 cup of organic popcorn kernels
1 teaspoon of Rosemary Salt plus more after it’s done.
Place the oil and your salt in a pot and start warming up slightly, swirls the pot around so the salt gets into the oil. Do not overhear. You want to warm it so the flavor can get into oil. Once warm, remove it from the heat and pour your popcorn kernels in the pot in single layer. Let the kernels sit in the warm oil for half a minute to absorb the flavor and warm up evenly. This will prevent burning your popcorn. Return the pot to the heat, cover with lid (if your lid does not have the steam releasing holes, leave is slightly ajar). Cook on medium high heat until you hear your kernels are mostly popped and the popping slowed with several seconds in between. Pour the popcorn into a bowl and sprinkle with more Rosemary Salt for more flavor. #rosemarysalt #popcorn #cookingwithoils #younglivingessentialoils
